The Foster Grandparent Program is recruiting new members for the Advisory Council. This is a terrific opportunity for those who are particularly interested in Senior issues and making an impact on the needs of the community and children with special needs.
The criteria for qualifying to become a proactive member is the desire to make a difference, ability to attend nine meetings throughout the year, and to have a background or interest in working with senior related issues or children with special and exceptional needs.
Expertise in fundraising, social services, city and county government and direct experience working with the media is particularly useful. We have a wonderful group of people currently active on the council from diverse backgrounds.
Our meetings consist of discussions related to enhancing the program, program evaluation, yearly site visits and sub-committee involvement. As a group we also plan and implement a yearly Foster Grandparent recognition luncheon. We invite you to call for more information and to join us for one of our meetings which are held the first Tuesday of the month. Please call if you wish to attend for directions.
