Recruitment I is the first step in adopting through Catholic Charities and an opportunity for couples to learn about the Catholic Charities perspective on adoption.

Couples who attend the Catholic Charities Recruitment I Orientation learn about the:

• larger Catholic Charities organization
• history of the Pregnancy and Adoption Services Department
• mission and values of the Catholic Charities Adoption Agency
• demographics of the birthparents we serve
• differences between agency and independent adoptions
• screening and application process
• Home Study Process
• agency fees
• Recruitment II follow-up meeting

Adoption is a joint decision. Both husband and wife must attend Recruitment I and II.
