Clinical Services
Professional counseling and support services for individuals, couples, families, and children. Assistance with parenting issues, marital conflict, recovery from loss or trauma, and life adjustment.

• California State Licensed Psychology Clinic

• Provides bilingual training for refugee resettlement workers in the areas of trauma assessment and treatment.

• Services provided on a sliding fee scale.

Emergency Services
Immediate need assistance services including food, clothing, shelter referral, and transportation assistance. Information and referral for individuals and families.

• The Food Resource Center is a free membership program where members shop for food, attend workshops, and learn to identify and leverage their resources.

• Case Management Services is the only emergency assistance office in downtown San Diego serving the homeless and working poor families.

• Casa San Juan is the only state licensed 24-hour residential facility for women and minors in custody of the US Marshal or INS in San Diego County.

Employment Services

• The only non-profit provider of Employment Case management Services under CalWORKS in San Diego County.

• Includes the Parents As Teachers (PAT) Program providing home-based services to parents with children ages 0-5. Emphasis on parenting skills education, child development knowledge, and promotion of early literacy.

Homeless Men's Services
Emergency short-term shelters for men.

• La Posada is the only shelter in North County targeting both day laborers and the general homeless population (currently about 50/50).

• Thanks to an FESG grant, La Posada de Guadalupe will extend its hours to accommodate both hot and cold weather extremes.

Homeless Women's Services
Emergency and short term shelter for homeless women and their children. Case management and support services provided.

• Rachel's Women's Center is the only daytime shelter for homeless and low-income women in San Diego and San Diego County. Open 365 per year.

• The Tomorrow Project, helping women create futures today, is the only work-readiness program for homeless women in San Diego.

• House of Rachel, established in 1980, was the first transitional residence for homeless women in San Diego County. Current target population is women over 50.

Immigration Services
Accredited by the Department of Homeland Security.

• Assists applicants in filing for permanent residence, citizenship, and other immigration needs.

Pregnancy and Adoption Services
Provides counseling, support, and education for pregnant women considering an adoption plan and for prospective adoptive couples.

• Assessment appointments for pregnant women are available both in-home and office.

• Newborn baby supplies are available to those women who decide to parent.

• State licensed private adoption agency with over 380 infants placed for adoptiuon since 1984.

• Program orientation, adoption education classes, home studies, counseling, infant placement, and post-adoption services are available for adoptive couples.

Refugee Services
Assists newly arrived refugees and asylees to achieve integration and self-sufficiency by offering cash assistance, cultural orientation, case management, employment services and other assistance.

• Only agency in California awarded five consecutive competitive demonstration projects by the federal government to test private-sector alternatives to welfare for refugees (continuous since 1990).

• Only resettlement agency in the Catholic Charities network awarded the Department of State's highest ranking, Commendable, in two consecutive tri-annual evaluations.

Senior Services
Services include meal and nutrition programs, Foster Grandparent Program, Senior Companion Program (Imperial County), and Senior Residential Services.

• Sole sponsor of the Foster Grandparent Program in San Diego County since 1972.
