Success Story
I started a new beginning at fifty-four years old. I have always heard that some people are a paycheck away from being homeless. This is the situation I found myself in a few months ago. When I became homeless, God led me to Rachel's Night Shelter. Since I have been in the Shelter, I have accomplished four major things: ajob, a savings plan, a car, and a solid plan for housing. I recently got a higher paying job with benefits that offer the opportunity for upward mobility.
Additionally, having a stable place to stay, meals, and work clothing provided by the Shelter, allowed me to establish a savings plan. With my savings plan, I recently was able to purchase a car. I now have reliable transportation to get to and from my new job. From the Shelter, I plan to move into my own apartment. I was also able to reconnect with family members and attend my grandchild's graduation party.
I truly believe with faith and a good attitude you can reach your goals.
Thank you God, Rachel's Night Shelter, and the staff for a start over and a new beginning.
