Mission
Rachel's Night Shelter exists to provide supportive, safe, and sober emergency, short-term and mid-term shelter for homeless women.
Principles
- To maintain temporary residence that is a safe haven and protection from the streets and other conditions of homelessness. This domicile consists of emergency shelter (1-2 days), short-term shelter (0-3 months) and mid-term shelter (3-6 months).
- To ensure a caring, committed and professional staff that maintains the safe environment and provides presence, consistency and supportive assistance to residents.
- To provide an evening meal, cot, bedding, showers, laundry and some storage for personal items.
- To coach women in activities of daily living & self-care, socialization skills, problem solving and conflict resolution.
- To provide weekly coaching & encouragement for residents as they work on achieving their goals of self-reliance.
- To make available a range of services through Rachel's Women's Center and Catholic Charities including, but not limited to, work-readiness training, recovery support, transitional housing, medical screening, mental health consultations.
- To refer to community housing services.

We are recruiting additional restaurants, groups, families, and individuals to participate in the Rachel's Night Shelter Volunteer Dinner Program.
